About this home
Whilst visiting West Bridge, you can look forward to curling up in the spacious yet cosy living room, overlooking the garden and the beautiful scenery surrounding the River Wear. It’s a calm, comfortable space designed for switching off — whether that’s with a book, a film, or simply watching the world drift by outside. We are always making thoughtful improvements to our home, so you may notice some furniture differs slightly from the photos, but the overall feel, space and comfort remain exactly the same.
If you fancy cooking up a storm, the spacious modern kitchen is well equipped for relaxed meals at home. Gather around the glass dining table and enjoy the fruits of your labour while looking out onto the small courtyard to the rear — perfect for slow breakfasts or cosy evening dinners.
The beautiful garden is ideal for unwinding on a sunny day or stargazing on a clear night. Just outside the front door, you’ll find a comfortable rattan seating area, with a sun lounger waiting at the bottom of the garden for those quieter moments. The garden is now fully enclosed with a 4ft fence, complemented by a 3.5ft hedge at the bottom of the garden. For extra peace of mind, the hedge contains discreet wire mesh, providing added security — particularly reassuring for guests travelling with smaller dogs.
Just beyond the front garden, a public footpath lined with tall trees runs alongside the River Wear, offering a lovely route for peaceful strolls and riverside walks right on your doorstep.
The cosy master bedroom overlooks the riverbank, and opening the curtains to the changing tide is one of the most peaceful ways to start the day. Watching the river flow in and out on slow, lazy mornings is something truly special. The room features a comfortable double bed, large wardrobe and drawers, a dressing table and a large flat-screen TV with a Roku stick.
The second bedroom is finished to a modern standard and includes a double bed, dressing table, drawers, beautiful ornate lean-to mirror and a large flat-screen TV with Roku stick. This room overlooks the charming rear courtyard, and on a clear day you can even spot Penshaw Monument in the distance from the window.
The newly refurbished bathroom completes the home beautifully, featuring a spacious walk-in shower designed for comfort and convenience after a day exploring the area.

The neighbourhood
The property is in a quiet and peaceful area, overlooking the stunning scenery of the River Wear.
There are beautiful walks all around the home for those wanting a leisurely stroll, including a stunning lake nearby which is never shy of ducks, geese and swans.
Just across the bridge, only a few minutes' walk away you have a selection of restaurants and bars should you wish to stay local.

- Please respect our home and neighbours during your stay.
- Strictly no smoking or vaping inside the property.
- This is a quiet neighbourhood, there are retired neighbours who are used to a peaceful lifestyle. Please respect this by keeping noise to a minimum during quiet hours, these are between 10pm – 8am.
- No unauthorised parties/events or unregistered guests permitted.
- Please keep the house clean and tidy and report any damages to us as soon as possible.
- Dogs are very welcome 🐾 Please clean up after them in the garden, use throws if they like the furniture, and unfortunately they cannot be left unattended. Additional cleaning charges may apply in extreme cases.

How to book
Use the calendar to check availability and send your booking request. If a date is green, bold and underlined, it’s available to book.
We have a minimum 7-night stay. Once you’ve chosen your dates, fill in your details and submit your booking request. We’ll review it within 24 hours, confirm availability, and send you the details to pay your deposit.
A 20% deposit is payable within 24 hours to secure your dates, with the remaining balance due 4 weeks before arrival.
Prefer to spread your payments out a little more? Absolutely fine — simply let us know at the point of booking and we’ll happily arrange a payment plan across up to 3 months where possible.
A £100 breakage deposit is payable 2 days before arrival and will be refunded after checkout once housekeeping has confirmed everything is A-OK.
For longer stays, feel free to get in touch with your preferred dates to discuss our rates. We offer a 30% discount on stays of 30+ nights on our booking calendar, with additional discounts potentially available depending on length of stay and availability.

Cancellation Policy
Free cancellation up to 30 days before check-in. If cancelled less than 30 days before arrival, payments are non-refundable. The £100 breakage deposit is fully refundable after checkout, subject to housekeeping approval.
